Bespoke vs Custom: What’s the Difference at Sahara Bridal?
At Sahara Bridal, we believe your wedding veil or accessory should be as unique as your story. That’s why we offer both bespoke and custom design services — two thoughtful paths to help you create something truly meaningful for your wedding day. So what’s the difference?
Bespoke: One-of-a-Kind and Exclusively Yours
A bespoke design is completely unique — created just for you and only you.
Your bespoke piece begins with a personal consultation with Sarah, where she’ll listen to your vision, values, and inspirations. Whether it’s incorporating an heirloom veil, adding a symbolic element, or creating something that’s never been made before, your design is tailored exclusively to you. This is a once-in-a-lifetime piece that cannot be recreated.
After the consultation, Sarah will present three design options, each with detailed quotes. You’ll select your favourite, and we’ll refine the design together until it’s perfect. Once confirmed, a 50% deposit is required (paid securely through our website). Sarah will then send a selection of material samples for approval before beginning work on your one-of-a-kind veil or accessory.
Custom: A Personalised Take on a Signature Design
A custom piece starts with one of our existing Sahara Bridal designs — and makes it your own.
This might include:
Tailoring the veil length to match your dress
Adding or removing tiers
Customising embroidery or embellishments
Adjusting the comb type for your hairstyle
Custom pieces allow you to personalise our signature designs in a way that fits your style and wedding day details — while still honouring the integrity of the original piece.
The Process: Bespoke or Custom
All bespoke and custom designs begin with a short enquiry form. From there, we’ll arrange a quick consultation (via Zoom if you're not local to Port Macquarie). Sarah will guide you through some simple questions to understand what’s most important to you.
For bespoke clients, once your design is chosen and deposit paid, Sarah begins the handcrafted process. The remaining 50% is paid prior to shipment via invoice.
Timeframe & Planning Ahead
We allow for a six-week creation period for both bespoke and custom designs. If your wedding is fast approaching, please reach out early — we’ll always do our best to accommodate where we can.
